Working intuitively I never know what the end product will be and respond to the ambiguous qualities which the mixture of foreground and background can provide.Surface qualities often have associations with landscape and marks can suggest paths and erosions.
Subconsciously I seem to make reference to the places in which I have walked, whether it be The lake District or The Himalayas.
