Clive Burnell was born in South Wales in 1950. He moved to Devon in 1973 and lives near Ottery St. Mary, East Devon. He worked as a Police Officer for 31 years before retiring in December 2000. Although he has received no formal art training he has painted from an early age. Favourable critical reviews led to him becoming a full time artist in 2003.
Clive Burnell works in oils and acrylics or a combination of both. His atmospheric, semi-abstract paintings are design to capture the ’spirit or essence of landscape.’
