My work is concerned with the dynamic interplay between form and pattern and is inspired by incidental shapes, patterns and colours observed in the natural environment. The simple, considered forms are either slip cast or constructed from soft slabs of clay and painted with layers of Parian slip.
I studied at Camberwell College of Art and I have since exhibited extensively. I have work in both public and private collections both in the UK and abroad.

Welcome to our Spring Exhibition. We have Amelia Humber, Christy Keeney, Richard Stanley and other ceramics by two new artists - Lara Scobie and Claire Loder
Amelia Humber
Amelia had a sell-out graduation show from Falmouth in 2007 and was selected by the Singer and Friedlander Watercolour Competition to be exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London 2006. Since graduating she has exhibited across the south including Cornwall, Brighton, Alresford and London, and now Shrewsbury.
Christy Keeney
Christy Keeney studied ceramics at the Royal College of Art in London and he has also been commissioned by the sculptor Eduardo Paolozzi and HRH Prince of Wales.
His work is an investigation of the human figure and his forms are stretched to the point where sculpture and drawing overlap.
Richard Stanley
Stanley’s work embraces a range of techniques in terms of mark making and expression. Producing Fluid and dynamic artworks, resulting from a working practice that is challenging and powerful. His vigorous approach to painting is produced by a layering, back and forth process, scraping back or re-working to produce a surface that imitates the landscape itself. His work captures the essence of places we all know and love as seen through the eyes of an artist.
Lara Scobie
Lara, originally studied at Camberwell school of art. Her work is concerned with the dynamic interplay between form and pattern and is inspired by incidental shapes, patterns and colours observed in the natural environment. The simple, considered forms are either slip cast or constructed from soft slabs of clay and painted with layers of Parian slip.
Claire Loder
Claire studied for her BA at Bath Spa University and then went on to gain a Masters fromUniversity of Wales, Cardiff. She has exhibited widely and is in many collections throughout the ceramics world including the permenant ceramics collection at Aberystwyth.
“I make heads and faces. Some people have great faces on the first look; other people’s faces grow on me. Some faces have a particularly interesting composition or outline. Faces are surprisingly different and I like the sensation of change that I get when I look from one face to another. Lived in faces hold more of a fascination for me than the sparsely populated faces of perfection…
